Description
An absolutely beautiful knife which wields a very fine point and extremely keen cutting edge. The grind profile lends itself to a very fine point while retaining point strength with the thickened stiffening rib running the length of the blade. The selection of materials means this knife is suitable for typically wet and corrosive tasks such and cleaning fish and fowl as well as other game.
The Bohler M390 blade steel is in the Ultra Premium class of modern blade steels. M390 is one of the new super steels on the block, manufactured by Bohler-Uddeholm (result of merger of Austrian Bohler and Swedish Uddeholm). It uses third generation powder metal technology and developed for knife blades requiring excellent corrosion resistance and very high hardness for excellent wear resistance. Chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, and tungsten are added to promote sharpness and outstanding edge retention. Most carbides are formed by vanadium and molybdenum, leaving more ‘free chromium’ to fight corrosion. M390 hardens to 60-62 HRC. I recommend using diamond stones for edge maintenance. A very beautiful short blade. Sharp and graceful. The Desert Ironwood handle feels great. Thanks for your free gift, I really appreciate it.

Great design with nice lines on the blade. The desert ironwood handle is very comfortable to hold. M390 also looks shinier than other steels. I love it!!!
